Places to Visit in Aliabad

Aliabad Bazaar

This is the commercial heart of Hunza. You'll find everything here like fresh fruit, spices, local crafts, and apricot products.

It's the perfect spot to experience authentic Hunza life. The energy is contagious, and locals are super friendly. It is recommended to spend at least an hour wandering through the stalls. You won't regret it.

Rakaposhi Viewpoint (Nearby)

This is one of the most famous viewpoints in the entire region. You get clear, uninterrupted views of the Rakaposhi "ice wall." The mountain literally looks like it's towering over you. It's breathtaking.

Visit at sunrise or late afternoon for the best photography and your camera roll will thank you.

District Secretariat Area

This area is useful for orientation and civic activity. You'll see government offices and the Post Office Aliabad here. It's not a tourist hotspot, but it gives you a sense of local administration. Plus, it's a good landmark if you're navigating the town.

Karimabad & Baltit Fort (Short Drive)

Karimabad is not more than 10 -15 minutes away from Aliabad. It is the location of the legendary Baltit Fort that should be visited. You can explore the fort, check out Karimabad Market, and relax at cozy cafés. Cultural sites are everywhere.

Altit Fort & Altit Village

This spot is around 15–20 minutes away. Altit Fort is known for its royal garden and restored houses. The cultural centers and historical architecture are fascinating. You will have the impression of travelling back in time. It is not as noisy as Karimabad, which is why it is the ideal place to spend the quiet afternoon.

Orchard Walks

Aliabad is surrounded by orchards of cherries, apricots, and apples. Walking through these orchards is such a calming experience.

Seasonal fruit picking is popular in summer. Imagine plucking fresh apricots straight from the tree. It's one of those simple joys that make travel meaningful.

Scenic Road Points

Short walks around the valley edges reveal open views of Hunza Valley. You'll see terraced fields and high peaks everywhere. These aren't marked tourist spots, but they're worth exploring. Bring your camera and just wander.
