The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Assembly holds legislative power to make laws while approving budgets as well as establishing key policies which affect people numbering in the millions across the province. The Chief Minister of KPK

As the executive head of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province the Chief Minister maintains control over provincial administration and executes government initiatives. Assembly members of KPK elect the Chief Minister through a five-year term while requiring continuing assembly member confidence for his position. Through their position the Chief Minister acquires substantial power in decision-making and administration which leads to effective governance across the province.

 

On March 2, 2024 Ali Amin Gandapur stands as the current Chief Minister of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. He took office as the 22nd Chief Minister in a Governor House Peshawar ceremony after taking his oath for representing Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI). As head of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa he leads province development by designing strategies and making policies to guide the province toward progress.

 

The provincial Chief Minister runs the cabinet alongside ministries while nominating ministers and advisors who will manage different administrative divisions. Under his role the Chief Minister develops strategic policies regarding health services and educational access as well as infrastructure development and agricultural management and law enforcement systems. The Chief Minister of KPK has the responsibility to execute all laws and budgets approved by the KPK Assembly.
